For New On Campus Student Employees

I was offered a position, now what do I do?

Return to the Career Hub to pick-up a Hiring Packet, which includes:
  • I-9 Form
  • W-4 Form
  • Request/Approval Form
  • Student Payroll Form & Loyalty Oath
  • Student Employment Confidentiality Statement
  • Direct Deposit Form
Return to the Career Hub once all signatures and forms are completed with the following: Provide Proof of Identification
  • An additional form of identification from the I-9 List of Acceptable Documents
  • Present a valid original social security card before beginning the first day of work. (including F-1 Visa International students)
    • International Students, please visit our front desk during office hours for assistance on what you need in addition to be hired on campus.
I started my new position, how do I get paid?
  • After all paperwork has been completed, payroll will generate a timesheet for you. Please allow up to two weeks for this to arrive.
    • The timesheet will be emailed electronically to your supervisor.
  • Time sheets are submitted to the Payroll Department by 10:00 AM on the 10th of each month.
    • It is your responsibility to ensure your supervisor has signed it and it is submitted on time.
  • Checks are issued on the last working day of the month.

  • Be enrolled in 6.00 units during the fall and spring semesters or 3.00 units in the summer.
  • Student Employment Application
    • Available to fill out in the Career Hub on the Santa Rosa Campus
    • Available to fill out at the First Stop Center in Petaluma
    • Application must be approved by the Career Hub or First Stop staff
  • International Students, please visit our front desk during office hours for assistance on what you need in addition to be hired on campus.

Do I qualify for Federal Work Study?

  • This program provides part-time employment at the College so that students can earn money while gaining work experience for employment after graduation.
  • Log into your MyFinancialAid portal to see if you have FWS.

How do I apply to an on campus position?

  • Visit the SRJC Job Board and search on campus positions.
    • Our Career Hub staff is here to assist you in this process as well as show you additional tools on our job board.
  • Departments hire directly, but you do need to have a copy of the approved application with you when you do! Please refer to the job board posting for specific details on how the department would like you to drop off your application. Questions? The Hub staff can help.
